We all know too much fat looks bad and is dangerous to our
health. So why in the world do people call the fat around our midsection love
handles? Is there anyone who loves that fat?
The term love handles came about as a slang term to refer to the fat around a
persons abs. When one reaches around another person to hug or walk with them
they can literally rest their arms on that fat. This term specifically refers to
the fat around the sides of the abdominal muscles. Also referred to at times as
a spare tire.
One of the biggest questions I hear people asking is how can I get rid of my
love handles? Most people are looking at this question from the respect of
wanting to look good. Almost everyone wants to have hot and sexy stomach
muscles. The other reason we all need to be looking at this question is
centralized fat around the abs is perhaps the most dangerous fat in the body.
Many diseases such as heart disease and diabetes have been attributed to fat
around the abs.
Forget about the idea of being able to attack the love handles in and of
themselves. Burning off fat in the abs, butt, or any other area isn't about spot
reduction. You have to look at the fat in your body as one entire object. If you
want to remove your love handles and transform your abs into a work of art then
set out to attack the fat throughout your body.
The purpose of fat cells (adipocytes) is to store energy for future use. This in
and of itself is not a bad thing. However, when we accumulate too much fat we
are destroying our bodies. The way our body works is when excess energy is
needed above the food we are taking in the fat cells release fat into the blood
stream. As we exercise or work hard our bodies need more energy and more fat is
used up. When this happens the fat is released into the blood stream from fat
cells throughout the body. There is no way to control this body function and
have the fat released from individual parts of the body.
Understanding the functions of the body may be a little boring, but its
important for you know. Once you understand these things you can be successful
at developing the body of your dreams. With that knowledge you will no longer be
at the mercy of the advertising machine. So maybe next time your up at 3am and
that infomercial tries to sell you the latest ab gizmo you will be able to say
no. That machine may tighten the ab muscles, but it will never be the answer to
removing your love handles.

body and you will loose the love handles. Your unsightly flab consisting of
doughnuts, pasta, fatty meats, cheese cake and more will begin to melt away. You
are not far from being a physical specimen of supreme fitness.

learn how to eat right. Balance your fat, carb, and protein intake and you will
